IPA Sound Drill respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Analytics Data (via Vercel Web Analytics)

We use Vercel Web Analytics, which collects:

• Page views (which URLs you visit)
• Referrer (which site brought you here)
• Device type (Desktop / Mobile / Tablet)
• Browser and operating system
• Country and region (based on IP address, IP is not stored)

No cookies are used. Vercel Analytics generates a 24-hour hash from your request, which resets daily.

You can opt out by visiting https://ipasounddrill.app/?va-disable=1. This sets a LocalStorage flag on your device to disable analytics.

2.2 Feedback Data (via Tally.so)

When you submit our feedback form (powered by Tally.so), we collect:

• Your feedback text (required)
• Your email address (optional, only if you want a reply)
• User type (optional: learner / teacher / developer / other)

Email addresses are used only for replying to your feedback and are never shared or used for marketing.

2.3 LocalStorage Data (stored on your device)

We store the following data in your browser's LocalStorage (not on our servers):

• Language preference (app_lang)
• Analytics opt-out setting (va-disable)
• Learning progress (ept_checks_v1)

This data stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To understand how users interact with the Service and improve it
• To respond to feedback (if you provide an email address)
• To maintain your learning progress on your device

4. Third-Party Services

The following third parties process data on our behalf:

• Vercel: hosting and analytics - Vercel Privacy Policy
• Tally.so: feedback form processing - Tally Privacy Policy
• Google Apps Script: text-to-speech proxy (no personal data sent)

5. Cookies

We do not use cookies. The LocalStorage data described in Section 2.3 is not a cookie and stays on your device.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

• Access: Request information about data we hold about you
• Deletion: Request deletion of your data (limited to Tally feedback data, as analytics is not tied to identifiable individuals)
• Opt-out: Disable analytics tracking (see Section 2.1)

7. GDPR (EU/EEA Users)

Our legal basis for processing:

• Analytics: Legitimate interest in understanding and improving the Service
• Feedback: Your consent (via voluntary form submission)

8. CCPA (California Users)

We do not sell your personal information. California residents can request access to or deletion of their data via the Feedback form.

9. Data Retention

• Vercel Analytics data: retained for 30 days (Hobby plan)
• Tally feedback data: retained indefinitely, or until deletion request
• LocalStorage data: retained until you clear your browser data

10. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

11. International Data Transfers

Vercel and Tally.so may process data in countries outside your location. These providers maintain appropriate safeguards for international data transfers.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes will be posted here with an updated date.
